In the beginning of Episode IV Leia puts the robots on the escape pod and launches them. The Imperial Laser Commander guy says “Eh theres no life on there let it go”
Really? In a world where robots are fucking everywhere the fact that there are no biological signs on a craft means they can’t blow it up? Are lasers that expensive? Besides they are looking for Death Star PLANS anyway which are also inanimate so a jettisoned escape pod seems like a pretty good place.
